All of the markings on these images are done with a process best described as Ecstatic Automatism.It is a process of repeatedly and continuously stimulating an internal ecstatic reflex from which my body and hand move in an automatic fashion, outside of any control or volition. This results in explosive and rapid mark making on the working surface. The deliniated imagery within the color fields is achieved through stencils or raised reliefs that act as a rubbing.
